Legends of Saint Petersburg

The Legends of Saint Petersburg project implies the transformation of the shopping complex «Perinnye Ryady» and creation of a new urban area - an educational theme park and attraction shall help significantly add diversity to the tourist program. A next-generation museum right in the historical and cultural downtown of the city would encourage the city residents to study the history of their hometown. Meanwhile, the visitors from other ends of the country coming to the city for summer school holidays would be able to appreciate and understand the role of St. Petersburg in the history of Russia.

The idea of the project is to create a guide to St. Petersburg's history and its cultural heritage sites with the use of high-end technologies. The city residents and its guests will be provided with an exciting insight into the city's history and will see the treasure inherited from ancestors in a new light.

The project will be implemented in the building of the shopping complex «Per- innye Ryady», located on Nevsky prospect, the main street of Saint Petersburg.

Preliminary functioning of the complex is the following:

•            Length of The Journey: 200 M

•            Number of Display Areas: 20

•            Time Length of the Journey: 30 min (1.5 min per 1 area)

•            Сapacity of Vehicle: 16 people

•            Time Between the Rides: 1 min

•            Working Hours: 12 hours every day

Thus, the potential capacity of the museum at full and uninterrupted capacity is estimated at 4.2 million people per year.

According to the estimations, and subject to the site's location and design features, the complex's attendance figure, during the first years of operation, will account for 1.2 million visitors. Afterwards, the expected attendance will gradually go up to 2 million visitors yearly.

However, the «Legends of St. Petersburg» complex is supposed to run on a round-the-clock basis in high season, with scheduled routine maintenance breaks. The average admission fee per person should, based on current prices, amount to around $13.5 for Russian nationals and $27 for foreign nationals. It's expected that 70% of the visitors will be Russian, and 30% foreigners.

The total allocated budget shall, according to preliminary estimates, amount to USD 90.8 million including the costs of acquisition of the building.

The expenses include design and survey work, construction and installation work, equipment (including delivery and installation), intangible assets (creative part), costs on connection to utility system (electric power supply).
